From MP3 to uncompressed WAV
Up to 5 minutes · 50 MB
Mono and stereo. Your file is processed on your device.
The MP3 channel count is preserved. Choose the settings your app needs: 24 bits cannot restore detail lost in MP3.

Your WAV is ready
Changing the file or settings removes this result. Download WAV before switching language or closing this tab.
How to convert MP3 to WAV
Use a modern browser with an MP3 decoder through WebCodecs, such as current Chrome or Safari. If this capability is unavailable, the page explains it; your file is not uploaded to bypass the limitation.
- Choose a local MP3 up to 5 minutes and 50 MB. Website URLs are not accepted.
- Select 16 or 24 bits and 44.1 or 48 kHz. Use the settings required by the app that needs WAV.
- Click Convert, then Download WAV. The output name includes its sample rate and bit depth. Your source MP3 is unchanged.
What happens to the sound
MP3 is lossy compression; WAV contains decoded PCM audio. Conversion cannot recover detail lost when MP3 was created. More bits or a higher sample rate do not improve the original recording. Use a lossless original if you have one.
Your browser reads MP3 and resamples to your selected rate. Mono stays mono and stereo stays stereo, with the channel order preserved. The converter does not trim, remove pauses, adjust volume or create extra channels. The output duration follows the samples actually decoded by your browser.
Encoder delay and padding are removed using valid MP3 metadata before resampling. Silence in your recording is preserved. If the metadata and browser output disagree, no WAV is created. For MP3 without delay metadata, the edges follow the decoded sound and may include encoder silence.
Why WAV is larger
PCM does not compress audio. One minute of 44.1 kHz / 16-bit stereo is about 10 MiB; 48 kHz / 24-bit stereo is about 16.5 MiB. Output can exceed the source-file size limit. A computer is recommended for recordings near 5 minutes.
Other formats and damaged MP3 show an error. Changing a file extension does not change its format. Both declared duration and decoded audio are bounded; an unsupported result is never presented as a successful download.
Settings and output stay together
Changing the source, sample rate or bit depth cancels the old operation and removes its link. Click Convert again for the new settings. A late old result cannot replace your current file. Hiding the tab cancels unfinished processing; a completed WAV stays available until you clear it, change settings or close the tab.
Your file stays on your device
MP3 contents, its name and WAV are not sent to Cuevy. No speech model, microphone, camera or account is needed. The page loads normal site resources. Analytics count opens, prepared WAV and download clicks without file contents; session replay is disabled. Cuevy's paid Russian desktop call assistant is a separate product.

Use the result
To change volume, choose the original MP3 or a prepared WAV in the audio volume tool. Its own limit is 5 minutes / 50 MB; a large converted WAV can exceed it.
To select a clip and add a fade, open the audio trimmer. It exports its own 16-bit / 44.1 kHz WAV and has a separate 50 MB input limit; a large converted WAV may exceed it. For English speech text, choose the original MP3 directly in the transcriber; its own limits and initial model download are explained there.
