How to trim an audio file online

  1. Choose a recording from your device. Audio is processed in your browser without uploading it to Cuevy.
  2. Set the start and end in seconds, or move the sliders. For example, start 12 and end 28 keep a 16-second clip. Whole file restores the full selection and keeps your fade settings.
  3. Optionally set fade in and fade out. Use 0 for no effect. Listen to selection, then prepare and download WAV. Your original file on the device is unchanged.

Use this tool for a short song, music clip, voice memo, interview excerpt or voiceover draft. The waveform shows the original audio amplitude. Check the selection and fades by listening.

Add fade in and fade out

Set each fade duration separately. Fade in raises the beginning from silence to the original level; fade out lowers the end to silence. Fades occupy part of the selected clip and preserve its duration and channel order. Playback and WAV export use the same processing. Choosing a new file resets both fades to 0.

Supported formats and limits

One source file can be up to 5 minutes and 50 MB. MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG and FLAC work when your browser supports the codec. Unsupported files show an error. Mono and stereo are supported; channels are not mixed.

Output is always 16-bit PCM WAV at 44.1 kHz. The browser resamples a source at another rate and decodes compressed MP3 or M4A. This does not preserve the original compressed stream. WAV can be larger than your input file. MP3 export, joining clips, noise removal and overall volume adjustment are not available.

Your audio stays on your device

File content, file names and selection boundaries are not sent to Cuevy. This tool does not need a speech model, microphone access or an account. Usage analytics record page opens, prepared WAV and download clicks without audio or file names. Session replay is disabled.

A cancelled read cannot replace a newer file when it finishes late. An invalid new file keeps your previous audio available. Changing the selection or fades cancels the old WAV preparation and removes its download link. Save the WAV you need before closing this tab or switching language; unsaved audio and results do not transfer to another page.

Questions before trimming

Can I trim an MP3 online for free?
Yes, when your browser supports the source codec. Choose the MP3, set the selection and download the clip as WAV. This tool does not export MP3.
How do I fade out a song?
Choose a song within the 5-minute / 50 MB limit, select the clip and set its fade-out duration. Listen to check the end, then download WAV.
Can I use this on a phone?
You can use a compatible mobile browser. Keep the tab open while reading audio and preparing WAV. Longer recordings need more memory; try a shorter source or a computer if processing fails.
How do I trim a voice recording?
Download a recording from the free voice recorder, then choose its WAV here. The recorder opens in a new tab, preserving this editor. Both tools limit each source to 5 minutes and 50 MB.
Can I turn my selected clip into English text?
Download WAV and choose it in the free English transcriber. It opens in a new tab. The recognizer runs on your device and downloads about 110 MB of model files on first use. Review the text and estimated subtitle timing before downloading TXT, SRT or VTT.
Do I need an account or paid minutes?
No. Selection, playback, fades and WAV download are free within the per-file limits. Cuevy's paid Russian-language desktop call assistant is a separate product.

Only edit recordings you have the right to use. Page language does not change the audio format.
